WE'VE BEEN INSPIRED BY: Amazings Skills Go on Forever
Ever wished you had a whole host of experts on hand to pass on their skills? New social enterprise The Amazings might have the answer. Based in East London, it’s helping “people who are about to retire or have retired create amazing experiences with the skills, knowledge and passion they’ve picked up throughout their life”.
The varied skills of The Amazings – the retired ‘experts’ – are passed on through workshops arranged and advertised by the small team of staff who work for the social enterprise. Activities currently on offer include retro hair dos with Michael, woodland foraging with Terry, street photography with Andrew and knitting with Bernadette. And new retired Amazings are being recruited all the time.
We think The Amazings sounds like a great example of living positively in communities by sharing knowledge to help people of all generations get the best out of life. Tell us what you think by posting a comment below.
