WE'VE BEEN INSPIRED BY: Milk Made
It’s well known that drinking milk is good for you, but how would you feel about wearing milk? Qmilch, a new kind of fabric made from milk protein developed by German based designer Anke Domaske, claims to be just as beneficial to your health as the calcium-rich drink.
Qmilch feels like silk to the touch and, because of the amino acids contained in the milk protein, it’s antibacterial and anti-aging. The fabric can also help regulate body temperature and blood circulation. Not only that, but it’s also good for the environment, as it uses less water and is the world’s first industrial-strength fibre manufactured without the use of chemicals.
Domaske’s cutting-edge idea has won her the innovation award from Germany’s Textile Research Association, who recognised Qmilch as a sustainable fibre that has potential to alter the clothing production industry.
What do you think of the idea of clothes made from milk? We’d love to hear your comments below.
