Time for Thailand

The devastating floods in Thailand may be slipping out of the news headlines, but Coca-Cola is continuing to work with organisations on the ground to help victims of the flooding throughout the country.

They’ve committed more than $2 million to ‘Reunite to Relieve and Rebuild’ Thailand, a sustainable relief and rebuilding initiative to help flood victims, and $1 million to Habitat for Humanity Thailand to rebuild schools and homes.

Coca-Cola have also partnered with the Thai Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity Thailand to mobilise volunteers, set up and run mobile kitchens, and deliver bottled water and food, including committing 5 million bottles of water to relief agencies.

To raise awareness and get the public involved in the flood relief efforts, all Coca-Cola radio, print and TV ads were re-directed for a time to encourage the public to ‘Reunite to Relieve and Rebuild Thailand’ by raising money and recruiting volunteers to support the immediate relief and rebuilding efforts of the Thai Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity Thailand.

The TV spots have reached an estimated 75% of the Thai public and recruited more than 3,000 volunteers to date. As the flood water recedes, these volunteers will help Habitat for Humanity Thailand clean, repair and rebuild hundreds of schools, shelters and homes across four provinces.
